Mentoring
Our Mentoring Program matches trained volunteer mentoring teams with families on public assistance who are striving to become independent.
Team members join hands with the family, helping them make a very difficult transition from welfare to work. Each team provides a broad variety of advice: from preparing for job interviews, managing a family budget and teaching planning and problem solving skills. |
 |
Our program really works! We are unique because each team works with their respective client for a period of one year, with the goal being to help families break the cycle of poverty. With a success rate of 85%, Family Pathfinders has been called "the best kept secret in Tarrant County."

Career Steps
Our community work program helps welfare recipients improve their job skills and enter the job market. Program participants are placed in unpaid internships with worksites in the non-profit, public or for-profit sectors. They develop and practice new job skills and gain valuable references. Sponsor agencies benefit from volunteer labor while community employers benefit from a trained labor force. Taxpayers benefit from reduced welfare rolls.
